On a more serious note, this is quite the improvement from the original Trace. It's nice to see you expanding on older projects since some of the puzzles were a little confusing.
Good job on the new version. The new renders are more engaging and appealing.
I have encountered a bug with the parallax. If I disable it and then I see an animation (solving a puzzle) when I am back to the room the parallax is activated, even though the toggle is off (confusingly being lit, but that's a UX choice).
On the other hand, I'd like to say that I find the interaction with the UI worse than the original. Sure it is nicer, but the animations every time I want to check an item are slowing the experience and force me to wait.
On the same line, I think the animation to see the camera shots is unnecessary. It's too much.
I recognise that the experience of looking at the shots, once I get there, is nicer than the previous version.
I meant this feedback as constructive and I hope it didn't come across as rude.
I enjoyed all of your escape rooms and I hope you make more in the future.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the way the story is "injected" in the flow of the game is also cutting the flow. It would be interesting if the story would give suggestions to solve some puzzles and maybe be skippable or at least controllable (back and forth) and "replayable" (in case it would hold a necessary piece to solve a puzzle).
I'm a huge fan of the original game and its what got me into puzzle games in the first place and seeing this and playing the demo is so exciting!!! The updated visuals and the parts of the story we got to see look so amazing and I'm looking forward to whenever the full version gets released. The graphic improvement from the original is insane!
Very cool, got very excited each time I saw a difference from the original! I've played Trace a handful of times but haven't been able to enjoy it as much as I did the first time I played because I obviously ended up remembering a ton of the puzzles and the brought the difficulty level way down, so I'm excited to get a play it again with some new stuff!
My only suggestion is that the drawer graphics can be a bit obstructive (the ones on the sides are mostly fine, the inventory one on top was a bit too large and kinda got in the way, at least for me. Regardless, excited to see what's next!
Is anyone else getting stuck drawing the fish in the mirror puzzle? I swear I'm doing it right but I keep getting the incorrect buzzer. Is there a certain vertex you're supposed to start from or something?
New graphics is at new level. But does it worth to remake the old game (with good enough graphics also) and to add long story and dialogs? Will see...
Please fix disable parallax issue: it starts to parallax again after opening items drawer. I get vertigo after some time with parallax, so i disable it (thanks for this option)
I loved the original, this version is fine too, but it didn't need a story, especially this boring and unoriginal. You never slap a story on a finished game, you only build a game around it from the origin, otherwise it feels totally out of place. Sometimes less is more, the unspoken opens the door for imagination, but if you'll try to fill this space with something very generic then it just destroys the magic of mystery.
Omg you took one of your best games and made it so much better the story the graphics everything is just marvelous. Btw thank you for the photographic memory update it was really annoying to cycle trough the pictures.
OMG I loved this demo ! I played the original a long time ago and Its now a personal favorite. I loved what you've done with this remake. The cut scenes were very well done and had me hooked on the story. I'm very excited to see the final product when it releases!!!

a skip cutscene button would be greatly appreciated, and turning off the parallax rarely stuck

TRACE Definitive Edition
Is anyone else getting stuck drawing the fish in the mirror puzzle? I swear I'm doing it right but I keep getting the incorrect buzzer. Is there a certain vertex you're supposed to start from or something?
Make sure to match the angle that it's facing.
T-T thanks lol

Damn, you’ve taken the parallax-based camera illusion to a whole new level with this definitive edition. It's a phenomenal work, man.
It looks absolutely jaw-dropping.
It’s honestly crazy how far you’ve come since that old MS Paint prototype in 2021. The visuals keep getting better every year.
Added to wishlist, good luck with your project!
Love the new graphics ,the drawer GUI is a bit weird but everything else is just spot one hope this project go far wishing you luck
